Question / Help More cores or faster CPUs?

Forgive me in advance as I don't know TOO much about this sort of stuff. I stream (obviously), and I'm wondering if one: getting a server based computer would be good for streaming? And two: if having more than one CPU (each quad core running at around 2.0GHZ-2.4GHZ ) would be good as a dedicated streaming computer. I will be getting a 1080P 60FPS capture card that is PCI-E based and I'm also wondering if that will work in such a computer, even with adapters.

Should I just invest in getting one beefier CPU and having an ALL IN ONE type system? (Streaming and gaming on one system) or should I go for the dedicated system with older xeon CPUS?

People have reported trouble when using more than one physical CPU, where only the first CPU would get used. Not sure if that was resolved, a forum search might reveal it, but I don't think so. I'd just get as many cores as you can on one CPU instead.

If you have a dedicated streaming PC separate from your gaming PC, then many slow cores is fine. Otherwise, you want a fast clock speed to keep your games running well. I wouldn't sacrifice my gaming ability just to hit a better preset by going beyond a hexacore CPU unless you're not going to be playing any up to date games, and probably not even then, just in case.

If you are looking to buy a cheap streaming PC setup with plenty of cores, buy an older dell t 5500 with an x56XX cpu in it. some of them actually have room for a second socket but again, I have not heard of people having issues with utilizing both, but if you have two hexcores with hyperthreading, I doubt you'll be having much trouble.

EDIT: remember you'll need two identical cpus as well and the addon board.
