I'm trying use OBS to remotely record depositions. I want to monitor the audio and video that's being recorded but I'm having trouble understanding how to monitor audio. I've attached an external monitor to my laptop so I can record it's screen while being able to leave OBS open on my laptop screen so I can monitor what's being recording without OBS recording itself. When I plug my headphones either to the monitor or the laptop I don't hear any difference when the output volume is changed in OBS. That must mean I'm hearing what the laptop is outputting not what OBS is recording. In the Audio Mixer tab in advance audio settings I see three choices: Monitor Off, Monitor Only (mute output), Monitor and Output. No matter what I select I hear the same thing. Is it really possible to monitor what's being recorded?
