Question / Help Monitor Error

I'm using OBS Studio 64-bit on my Windows 10. I have been trying to use display capture to capture my other monitor hooked up to my laptop. The capture only shows the background of my monitor. I have my xbox one connected to my monitor playing a game but i wanted to capture the gane through obs. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance

That is not how that works. To capture footage from a console you either need an HDMI capture device, or, if you're using the game streaming feature of the Xbox to play on your computer, you need to run game capture against that application.

If you've just got a monitor that's plugged into both a console and a computer, you can't use that connection to capture.
