Question / Help Monitor connected to Display Port Game Capture wont pick up game

When i connect my monitor to display port and open up OBS game capture i get a black screen, i thought the monitor was the issue, so i connected my monitor via HDMI and it was picking up the game from game capture. Does anyone know why or how to fix this. I do not want to use HDMI, since it is at a lower resolution and my game doesnt perform as well on HDMI

what do you mean? the display port cable is connected from the back of the monitor to the only port on my tower that supports a display port.
 
my monitor is picking up my display just fine its just obs when im connected via display port obs doesnt pick up the game through game capture
