Question / Help Monitor capture only capturing one application/desktop

Hello,

I am trying to record a tutorial video, but am noticing that on monitor capture, OBS still only records one thing. For example, if I start in a browser, it'll continue recording the browser even if I minus it. If I start on the desktop, it only records the desktop, not even files that I open. How an I make OBS record everything?
