MKV file only recording one audio track

I have my microphone set to track 1 and my desktop audio set to track 2. When I playback the video with VLC and switch the audio to track 2 I can't hear the desktop audio. I can hear track 1 but switching to track 2 there's nothing. I have 1 and 2 enabled in my recording settings, and audio properties is where I set them to different tracks.

Of course, if I switch desktop to 1 and microphone to 2 I can hear desktop. Whatever is in track 2 i can't hear, but I have both enabled.

Now it works. I don't know why but I just kept switching tracks in VLC and now it works : |

It seems either waiting a little while or disabling and reenabling audio in VLC will let me listen to both tracks.
