Is there a slideshow-like plugin that can show everything in a directory (alphabetic order if possible), mixing both static images like PNGs with videos like MP4s?

Usecase: I run ads on the TV screens in my bar/arcade. Most ads are just images that I'd like to stay up for let's say 5 seconds, but some are videos and I'd like this thing to just show them all no matter what they are, looping through the directory forever.

Secondary ask: If there are such plugins, will they occasionally re-scan the directory and notice when new files are dropped in or deleted?

No, because that's just the foreground layer; it's live mixing that show with a large set of video files in the background with an alpha, to produce a more vibrant image.
