Question / Help Mismatch between window and display capture

When I am using OBS in window capture mode, it ignores itself and captures only the window. However if I use display mode, it can see itself so in teh recording you see infinitely repeating versions of the screen within the screen of the program.
Is there any way to stop that?
(I drew the white boxes in to preserve privacy)

Minimize OBS or move it to another display.

Yeah I did that but it means chopping the beginning and end off the video, just an extra task I could do without if possible.

You can setup Hotkeys to record and stop recording.
