Question / Help Minimum CPU useage

I was wondering if somebody figured out how to run OBS without it taking up 9123491823% CPU.
My whole laptop was molten hot after one game of Hearthstone.
Much help would be appreciated.

A triple fan cooling pad will help. Try to position the MB so that the fans blow into the air intake. Also if you are past your warranty, I'd recommend taking the back cover off and checking for lint on the fan and components.

seriously is that all it is? I had to recently take my mac in for repair, and I think it had to do with it getting fried from streaming so much :(, so there can't be that much lint in it already.

Actually the activity monitor is deceptive. Divide that percentage by the number of logical cores you have and you'll see the actual CPU usage. The actual CPU usage is reported in the program itself on the bottom right.
