Question / Help Minimize Network Impact

I just found this option (I didn't see it before due to it hiding in a inconspicuous spot). I did a search on it in the forums, but didn't find any discerning information. The few posts I read said this was the same as automatic low latency mode? I've been using low latency mode to deal with spikes, but if they're the same, which are you supposed to use?

Minimize Network Impact was called Low Latency Mode in previous versions. Don't touch the advanced options for it unless you're experiencing problems.

I'm going to bump this... It seems almost as if minimize network impact turns itself off. It works and the occasionally it seems to stop working at it's as if it's not turned on at all (my ping starts spiking again).

Since I have absolutely no idea what it actually does, it's hard for me to say for certain what's actually going on...

I'm not sure if I should use low latency mode? I used to, then I switched to minimize network impact and that seemed to work, but doesn't seem to do it's job anymore. When are you supposed to use both of them? How do you know which to use?

Turned low latency mode on as well as minimize network impact and the lag is completely gone now. It doesn't even feel like I'm streaming... weird. :l

So weird bug perhaps... I have both reduce network impact and low latency mode enabled, but it doesn't seem to take affect till I restart my stream.

So when I first open OBS for the day and start streaming the options don't seem to matter, I need to stop and start my stream again and then it fixes things. I'm not entirely sure which option this pertains to, but it's what's happening.
