When I use Show stream, everything looks beautiful, but when I record, and look at my vid in Windows movie maker, nothing shows, and its only a 7 second clip, no matter what. What do I do????

Stop using windows movie maker and use something better.
VLC can be used for playback - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
There are probably some editing software packages that play nicer with the recordings out there.
