Question / Help Minecraft crashing when previewing or streaming

I've been using OBS both to stream and record for several months with no problems and suddenly last week during a recording OBS recorded a black screen with my audio being fine. After that every time I load Minecraft, it (Minecraft) automatically crashes in a minute or less, sometimes while loading. OBS is recording other games fine video and audio and Minecraft is playing fine without OBS. I updated my video drivers and Windows and reinstalled Java and OBS and I'm still having problems. I'm at a loss.

Here's my crash log:

That appears to be a log from capturing Prison Architect. Can you try to get another log specifically from Minecraft?

Hmm, it looks like there's something unusual in the way the game is getting hooked. Have you updated your graphics drivers recently?

Also, just for the sake of diagnosis, are you running OBS and/or the game as administrator? Also, do you have any overlays of any kind running, such as FRAPS or Razer Synapse?

As part of my own diagnostics, I updated my video driver, updated windows, reinstalled OBS and reinstalled Java. I'm running both the game and OBS as an admin. No external overlays.

Do you have a second GPU in your computer? Many computers have a dedicated GPU and an integrated GPU these days...do you know if you have such a system?

Usually both GPUs appear in the OBS log, but only one is appearing in yours, but I wonder if somehow OBS isn't seeing one of your GPUs and is running on the wrong one.

Where did you go to get the GPU driver update?

I doubt you have any old logs I could look at from when it was working, but it might be nice to know if your computer was still using the different capture method even when it was working, and if there's something else going on.

Just on the off-chance it works, can you see if enabling anti-cheat compatibility helps at all?

The log above since it was from Prison Architect was a functioning stream for 2.5 hours. Unfortunately because I uninstalled OBS, the old logs are gone. They're not in my recycle either. I'll get back about anti-cheat.

This is my log with anti-cheat enabled:

Well, at this point I don't really know why it's happening, but I have a few more thoughts and suggestions. First, there hasn't been a new release of OBS1 since March, so if something only started happening within the past week, it only makes sense that something changed on your system. Maybe Minecraft got an update that changed the way it responds to memory capture, or maybe a new update to a GPU driover caused the issue, or maybe you have a Minecraft mod installed that is causing issues, or something similarly obscure. At this point, it kind of sounds like it could be several things, but I don't know what specifically.

Another thing to try, at least for the sake of diagnosis, is the latest test build of OBS Multiplatform, which can be found here: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/latest-windows-test-build-0-10-1.23342/

I would try that using both the DirectX renderer and the OpenGL renderer, for the sake of thoroughness. And finally, if nothing works, Window Capture with Aero disabled should at least work, though it's certainly not ideal.
