Question / Help Midtown Madness 2 black screen (Old 2000 game)

I want to record an old 2000 game Midtown Madness 2. Since the game is 14 years old it doesn't have the ability to go windowed mode. I use some programs to force it into windowed mode, but the game crashes.

I'm trying to use Game Capture on it, but it has a black screen with normal audio. I tried using Monitor Capture. it works, kind of. It records at a low framerate (15 fps) and has a lot of rendering issues (Screen flashing black, buildings and 3d models flashing) which makes it look horrible.

I think MM2 runs on a DirectX lower than 9. Is it possible to record lower versions of DX?

I managed to record without any problems, but with low framerate and no sound using MSI Afterburner. But still I'd rather use OBS.

Compatibility mode.
Disable visual themes.
Right-click 32 bit OBS and select run as administrator.
Make sure it's installed on your primary drive and not a secondary.

Some combination of those usually works for me for older games.

I tried that so many times and the game still won't show from blackscreen.
