Mics and audio monitoring

Hello everyone,
I work for a school and have been using OBS this year for our announcements. I just recently added a 2nd mic and changed both mics to a usb connection. 1st run went well, 2nd run one mic wasn't recognized. This could be due to a ill fitting usb but I am open to other suggestions. I have both of my mics connected to my computer and not an external mixer. My main issue is that now that I am using the usb connections the Monitor and output audio is no longer working. we can not hear the audio from Obs through my computer in the classroom like before. I did not change the settings. It still says monitor and output. which is what I need so that the students know when to start talking after a scene change. I unplug the usb mics and the audio is heard again. Can I fix this? Is there a setting I'm missing? Do I need to send the usb cables back and get aux cable extenders?

Thank you! Could it be because I don't have the mics ran though an audio mixer? Maybe they are conflicting? Do you need a mixer? can you run it directly though the pc like Im trying or should I just get an aux cord to make the one mic longer and not mess with 2 mics?

wich mic did you use conection type and model ! did you use ? looks like your mic has an ouput device in like rode podcaster
and you use in OBS the standard windows ouput device check you monitor settings witch ouput device you use.
