Question / Help Microphone/Webcam progressive desync

Noxious

New Member
I recently switched my setup from a webcam + integrated cam microphone to using a Blue Yeti + C920 Logitech webcam.

I have been getting some progressive desync between both; it usually starts off well, then some time down the line the entire sync just goes to crap, etc. I'm not using a capture card, so it's really just a problem occurring for no reason I can understand. Let me know what I should do.

Uploaded three logs during which the desync occurred (same day, different times). It's not pinpointed, but I wonder if it may help or not.

Thanks!

So the desync just happens "suddenly"? Have you tried enabling "Use Mic QPC Timestamps"?

Also, I recommend reducing the webcam resolution to 720p or lower, as webcams running at 1080p tend to saturate your USB controller, which can affect other USB devices. Usually the webcam isn't fullscreen anyway.

I have it enabled, yes. I'll try to lower it to 720p to see how it does, but so far it hasn't done much. It rarely is fullscreen, so that's an idea.

The desyc doesn't happen on startup.

If I offset at 150ms on the microphone, the desync just gradually increases further. Any other hints?

If it's enabled, does disabling it help at all? I've seen the problem get solved by disabling it, and I've seen the problem get solved by enabling it, so perhaps it's the other way for you.

Neither way does it for me; it happens whether or not it is or isn't enabled

What if you disable the microphone device in OBS audio settings, but then open the webcam source and set your webcam audio device to use your Blue Yeti? (make sure your webcam is a global source)
