Hey all. I've just started streaming more regularly, and decided to purchase a microphone (logitech) to make my stream better. I have been experienced some difficulties getting clear audio from the microphone, and have spent more than a few hours trying to resolve this.

The problem is as follows: I first tried plugging the microphone into the jack in the front of my computer (running Vista - don't worry, it's still compatible with the mic). The computer recognizes the mic, but doesn't pic up any audio at all. When I plug it into the mic jack at the back of my base unit, it is able to pick up some audio, but it is very, very faint.
Things I have done:
Anyway, if anyone has some suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Things I have done:
- updated all my drivers (realtek)
- gone into the microphone settings and maxed out the volume to 100 - have slid the microphone boost to +20 dB (I have tried all of +10/20/30)
- tried disabling enhancements such as DC offset cancellation, noise suppression and acoustic echo cancellation. Whether these are on or off made no difference in the final result.
- have tried adjusting the mic boost in OBS to as high as 20 - but it is just amplifying background noise, not my actual voice.
- I tried the mic with my phone and it works perfectly. So I believe it must be a problem with my computer/settings and not the mic itself.
Anyway, if anyone has some suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.
