Microphone Overlay

I'm looking for something that could basically act as an indicator for when my mic is transmitting audio, with the ability to choose a picture (or a gif) to display while doing so. I know programs like Discord, Mumble, etc, have overlays like that but it's not quite what I'm looking for.

If you have a push-to-talk button, you could use AutoHotKey to bind to that same keypress, and have AutoHotKey load an image, and OBs display/capture said image.

That's actually a really good idea, though I'm not typically comfortable doing push to talk. I'll definitely look into that and test it out though.

I absolutely would also love this idea.

Being able to basically have one image when the source is outputting quiet, and another when transmitting is something I've been wanting for a long time.

I bet it can be done with a script but I can't tell python, lua, or the obs api from a sack of wet mice.
