Question / Help Microphone OR desktop audio not working on stream unless set to audio track 1

So I have my desktop audio set up to track one in advanced properties, mic set to track two, and both set to track three. I get my tracks recorded just fine, but nothing outside of track one can be heard on stream. Here's screenshots to show how I have my settings done up.

As you can see, I have my audio tracks activated in recording settings, and set appropriately in advanced audio properties. And third image shows that my devices are being registered and heard by OBS. Any idears?

Iiiii'm an idiot. I could just set both to stream/record on track one, and then still split tracks two and three for editing purposes of the recording. Never mind y'all, I think I make a pot of coffee now it 5:00 AM lol.

Yep, looks like you figured it out. Track 1 is designated as the stream output track, with higher numbered tracks only used for multitrack recording.

Include whatever you want stream to hear on track 1, and set things up as necessary on the others for later.

You can choose any track you want for streaming, but you can only stream one track. You can have as many devices as you want on that track.

So if you're simultaneously recording and streaming, and want discrete tracks for editing but want all tracks on your stream, and you have two devices, then configure the advanced settings like this: Put device 1 alone on track one, put device 2 alone on track 2, and configure BOTH devices on track 3.

Then, in the configuration for stream output, choose 3 as the audio track for streaming output.

Now your stream can hear all the audio, but your recording has devices on separate tracks so that you can control the mix while editing.
