Recently I have been wishing to starting streaming and have finally found the time to start.

Unfortunately, the mic does not work.

The current Headset/Mic that I am using is a Sades SA708. I have messed around with the setting and have looked on the forums for an answer but to no success. They all tell me that the Realtek mic should work but it doesnt. I have made sure my mic is switched on and that all the volumes on the cable are at full blast. I have also tested the mic on Audacity and it works perfectly there but im not getting anything on the OBS application.

Any help would be appreciated and I thank you for your time.

Ok, I had a similar problem. Here's what I did.
To make sure everything is set up in windows. Go to the bottom right of the taskbar, and right click the speaker icon. Click recording devices. And make sure your mic is there, and make sure it is the default mic. (Should have a green tick) if not click on it and set to default. Speak into the mic and make sure the audio bars rise green, to show audio is being heard by the computer.

If that all works fine. Open OBS make sure it was closed. Then before hitting preview stream or stream now, go to settings. Click on audio. And it should say like microphone or something like that. Select your mic. Save, exit. Hit preview stream, when everything is set up. Talk into the mic, and the mic level indicates should show your voice.

That means it's working

Also make sure the mic ain't muted. And also you can't edit much settings while streaming
