Question / Help Microphone Gain

Hello everyone,

So I have recently been streaming a lot on TwitchTV and I have invested both time and money into my set up. I have an Audio Technica AT2020 USB microphone connected to my computer and it works well enough. However, my stream tells me that I am too quiet at times whenever I use Nightbot's AutoDJ feature. Even at the volume setting of 10 for AutoDJ, it covers my voice up. I know that there is an audio mic boost in the OBS settings and I adjusted it accordingly by increasing it by integer intervals. I noticed that no matter what integer I put in, my volume did not increase. I began reading around and another developer had suggested to use the mic control on the main screen of OBS. However, I have that microphone muted since it causes an echo on my stream if it is not but weirdly I can still talk, just without the echo. I tried disabling my webcam microphone thinking OBS was picking both my USB mic and my webcam mic but if I disable my webcam mic in the windows device manger settings, it also disables the sound card which then blocks OBS from starting up saying that desktop audio could not be initialized.

Any help would be appreciated. I am sorry if my post was long winded but basically I just want to boost my voice audio and also possibly getting the main menu microphone settings to work.

The multiplier in the audio settings only applies to the microphone selected in the settings, therefore it's no wonder it won't change the volume if you have it disabled there. My guess is that your OBS is set up so that your webcam also outputs audio.

What you'll want to do is enable the microphone in the audio settings and then make sure that in all your scenes with your webcam disable their audio by right clicking them, heading to properties and choose "Disable" at Audio Input Device.

Then test the volume again, hopefully you should not have your voice echo then. If this doesn't solve the problem it would be great if you could include a log file to your post, that allows us a little more insight in what is happening in your end (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7144)

Thank you for the input Dragon, it is much appreciated.

When I get home tonight, I will further tweak my settings as you suggested.

If anyone else would like to provide input on my situation, that would be great.
