Mic wont pick up on recording when I have a game open, if the game isn't open the mic picks up just fine

I can see in the audio mixer that the mic is still being detected but in the actual footage I cant hear a thing. Another weird thing is that I only hear my mic on the remux of the recording (with no game open). I did nothing to cause this issue, it just started happening.
