The new update supporting surround sound came out, and I was excited to use it. When I select 7.1 surround sound it stops picking up my mic, but when i swap back to stereo it picks it up again

Hi,
you have read the motherboard's operating instructions?
Because typing setting for 7.1 audio output is change all jack socket to out, including microphone.

Hi. After changing to surround, did you restart OBS? If you did, could you go into Settings -> Audio and ensure your microphone is still selected in Mix/Aux? If it is, please send a log.

To make a clean log file, first restart OBS, then start your stream/recording for ~30 seconds and stop it again. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc. When you're done select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste it in a response below.

Hey, I know this is old but I am using 7.1 and my mic was not working... so I thought... The mic is working just OBS indicator was not working. Simple fix. when you use 7.1 make sure the "Output" then "Audio" Track 1 is set to 1024, once you have done that, save and go the Mixer and click the Gear Wheel for the Mic/Aux then Advance Audio Properties, for the Mic/Aux (This is the important part to see the indicator working) check ALL the Tracks then Check the"Downmix to Mono" and then the indicator will work. But like I said, even without these settings the Mic was working. This worked for and I hope it will for you too or anyone else.
