Question / Help Mic stops working as soon as OBS starts!

I need help! This never happened before! My mic just stops working as soon as I start OBS. No matter what, windows will not pick up any sound from the mic. I have to close OBS and then restart the mic in audio settings in windows in order to make it work again. But when I start OBS again, it will kill the mic again. What is happening?

Go to Windows Sound Recording and make sure it is set as the Default device.

it is default in windows recorder settings.

well i don't know it seems to be working now ... It's just so weird.

Since its intermittent, I think it would be a good idea to have a checklist to walk through every time prior to going live (i.e. not just hit a button and expect it to work). Make note also of what things are changing in your system.
