Question / Help Mic Skipping when using Webcam Audio Setting

Hello guys,
I've been testing out my stream settings as I've just come back from a break and wanted to make sure everything was still working properly. However out of nowhere, my mic audio is skipping constantly (as in the audio just cuts out every second).

I'm currently running this as File Output only just for testing purposes but the problem is evident when streaming also.
The only audio that is skipping is the mic. Desktop audio is perfectly fine.

My setup is as below:
4790K / 32GB RAM / GTX 970 / Focusrite 2i4 / AT2035 Mic / Adobe Audition

Overview of my settings for my audio:
Mic > Adobe Audition > VB Cable > OBS.
OBS Audio Settings: Disabled
Webcam Properties Audio: VB Cable selected / -300 sync
Video: Custom resolution set @ 480p with buffering on.
Global Offset in advance tab: 300

Have tried:

- Starting a brand new settings profile in case I accidentally toggled a setting
- Deleted all my scenes
- Used my mic directly as the audio source in webcam properties in case the effects were using up too much bandwidth (audio still skips)
- Disable mic on webcam properties, Enabled in OBS Audio Settings (Result: Smooth, skip free audio)

However with the OBS Audio settings, I can only either:
get my webcam+mic to sync but not the desktop audio
or
my mic and desktop audio is in sync but webcam video is not

I would really like to figure out why my audio is suddenly skipping when set in Webcam properties, as I can't get everything sync'd nicely using the obs audio settings.

Any help would be appreciated~

Don't use the webcam audio setting. That's more for things like capture cards. Use your microphone on the OBS Mic channel, and set the webcam audio to Disabled. Fix your Global Offset back to 0.

Use the Mic Sync Offset in the Audio section to compensate for your mic/cam audio sync, as needed.
If your audio drifts, disable VB-Audio/Audition. They tend to cause problems, and are more a band-aid for poor setups than a good solution. If you're using Audition to reduce ambient noise, welcome to the world of using a studio mic in a non-studio setting, one of many reasons why a headset mic is a vastly better option for livestreaming, and why I really get annoyed by the current large-capsule mic fad on Twitch.

You WILL have offset mic/cam to desktop audio/video, there is no way to fix this as game captures cannot be delayed. Meaning that singing along with music will leave you normally around a third of a second behind, and with the choice of either sounding bad, or training yourself not to sing/hum along with in-game music. Or having the in-game sound happen ahead of the video. Which looks terrible.

Ah right. Didn't realize it was for capture cards as it used to work flawlessly.

I already have a studio mic as I record music in my spare time and didn't see any harm in using this as my mic. Prior to streaming I would just use my webcam mic for talking with friends etc but it really isn't all that great for an audience.

I use audition for amplification as oppose to noise. I know OBS has a built in boost, but I have to set this quite high as my talking voice is quite soft. However when I do get a little loud (i.e. something exciting happening in game), it is LOUD to the point it clips due to the boost. The clipping isn't evident when I put the boost on default and use Audition to amp my volume instead, but I guess I'll have to invest in a headset instead when I can to sort this whole sync/sound issue.
