Mic seems to randomly stop picking up soft voices then starts again

This one really has me frustrated. Im using a Rode USB mic and all seems fine then low/soft voices and the mic stops responding. If I use a loud voice then the mic seems to reset and begin again picking up soft low voices again. Its not a mic problem as using this mic outside of OBS its fine and does not have this issue.
Ideas thoughts please. I have uninstalled and and reinstalled without help. Im 100% convinced this is not a mic or filter issue. It just seems to go to sleep for soft low voices and then if it picks up louder voice it seems to reset and begin picking up them up again.

Any suggestions?

What you describe is probably due to a noise or gate filter. You need to balance this filters to allow soft voices but not unwanted background noises.
