I've tried to do that many times with no luck. It's only an issue when I want to stream/record with friends and I want the discord chat on desktop, mic audio on mic and my capture device going. they are all on seperate tracks too. I do apologize, I'm not familiar with setting things like this up.

If your mic is in OBS and that device is set to "output only" and you still hear yourself, you're either listening to your own stream, or some other software is echoing your own voice back to you.
In either case it's possible you have set your audio monitor to be your default windows sound device, which you shouldn't do, which is why I linked the other thread.
