Mic no longer picking up audio

So I broadcasted a stream last Saturday using OBS 26.1.0, no issues. Saturday night got a Windows update and on Sunday I was getting no audio on OBS using the internal, built in laptop microphone or an external microphone. If I test with another program like Zoom, both the internal & external mic's work properly. Went through all the setting on the laptop, updated BIOS & drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled OBS with no improvement. Today I tried again and noticed an OBS update to 26.1.1, downloaded and still getting no audio on OBS. Can anyone help?

I have a similar problem ( and sorry, no solution ) I did a 26.1.1 update with no problem but then did a Win10 update which required restart. The next time I tried OBS there was no monitor output from mic or media files. I still hear system sounds, zoom and utube still work. I need a solution. No music at church last Sunday!

I got the audio working again but, I don't know what I did. Restarted computer and OBS with no change. Then I decided to check profiles. While I was looking at them I decided to create a new one just to review the options presented. Before I could change anything it started to work. Hope that it lasts!
