Question / Help Mic gets progressively worse the longer I stream

So, I am really new to streaming.

I have started having this issue with my mic, where at first its completely fine. However as time goes on, the mic starts breaking up as I talk / sounding robot like / stuttering. This creates a huge problem.

This started happening shortly after I set up a VAC audio cable, and used Adobe Audition to clean up background noises.

In Adobe Audition I used two effects - DeHummer, and Adaptive Noise Reduction. I also used Noise Gate in OBS as well.

So far I tried turning off the Noise Gate in OBS to see if that was the cause, that did not solve the issue. My mic is completely fine outside of streaming for instance speaking on Teamspeak.

I can only assume that something with Audition or VAC is causing it. Something I have not set or done incorrectly.

Would somebody be able to help me in tracking down what is causing this progressive issue as I stream?

I am happy to provide as much info as I can.

Hey dping, so the issue cropped up again I thought I had fixed it. but two hours into the stream roboting happened again. So I went ahead and uninstalled VAC and Audition and tried that plugin that you linked me. However after installing the plugin OBS now thinks my Mic is the Audio, I am probably missing something obvious here but how do I fix that?

Well something isn't set up right. are you still planning to use VAC? there shouldn't be any need to with this. Just set everything up standard

I went ahead and set everything up as standard again. Seemed to fix the problem but audio quality was not as good. But it worked fine after that. I must have just fiddled around a little too much. Decided to get a better mic (blue yeti) instead of giving myself a headache and trying to make a low end mic sound good. Thanks for the help though appreciated.

And yeah I removed those programs (vac etc) im sure the guides I read for them had the best intentions but they over complicated it all for me.
