Question / Help Mic either picks up all key clicks or cuts my voice off

I am having a hard time making it so my mic doesn't pick up all of my key clicks from my keyboard. I can get a noise gate setting where almost no clicks are heard, but then my voice cuts off all the time. There seems to be no sweet spot. I have tried putting my mic in different areas, but I don't have that many options. It's not like I can move my keyboard and mic *that* far away from each other since I need to be right by both lol.

If anyone has any tips or ideas that my small brain isn't thinking about, I greatly welcome anything, as I am new to this. Thank you

The ideal distance between your mic and your mouth is about 5-15 cm, and a few cm to the left or the right to not record your breath. If it is farther away, it begins to pick up the noises in your room, because your voice gets quieter from the mic's point of view due to the distance.

And make sure you're using the correct mic. In case you use a laptop with an internal mic and a headset, make sure OBS is picking up the headset mic and not the internal laptop mic.
