I just started using a BEHRINGER XM8500 mic with a Bellinger UMC22 interface. I’m having some trouble with the mic outputting echoed sound only if there seems to be a certain pitch sound being input or voice that’s a little louder than usual. If I talk at a low or normal volume with no sudden increase in voice volume, there no issue.
I’m using the obs noise gate and compressor. Gain is probably set to 50-60% on the mic interface unit. Obs only has one mic input set up and I always use headphones so it’s not something about the mic picking up audio from some speakers. I think using compressor in obs might help, but I’m still having a little trouble.
Finally, I noticed that if I just do a recording in obs without streaming I can’t replicate the problem for the life of me. Everything sounds fine. When I stream, I get the issue and the stream recording (via obs) also has the periodic echo problem.
Any ideas?
