Mic Balance is Grayed Out; Unable to Assign Left and Right Channels

In OBS Studio, I open audio advanced settings. I want one mic assigned to the left and one to the right, but the mic balance setting is grayed out. What do I do?

You need to feed OBS audio source with some signal (non-zero level). Then the option will become enabled.
