Mic/Auxiliary as Separate Audio Channel in Local Recordings

Pretty much as the title says. I've been struggling on and off with setting up my audio levels for my cast, and when I finish a cast and want to edit some of the footage for YouTube I often find that the audio is way to strongly skewed with my microphone being way too loud and the game/others in voice calls being too quiet. I've had to throw away some good footage for these reasons.

How hard or taxing is it to add an option for Microphone to act as a separate audio channel in local recordings so that it can be adjusted separately in editing? Is it possible?

I agree, I hope this is implemented soon in the program by default, if not, then a plugin should be created to achieve this functionality.
