Mic/Aux wont pickup ANY audio except static

No matter what source I choose for my Mic/Aux it wont pick it up. If i have any desktop audio going, it will pick that up including the static. If i have nothing playing its just the static constantly. It never actually picks up my mic audio

No matter what source I choose for my Mic/Aux it wont pick it up. I've completely disabled all of my audio input and its still somehow picking up static. Occasianally it will just pickup desktop audio with the same issue

edit: I have my headset selected as the source. It only detects desktop audio and then the mysterious static.
