Mic/Audio filters have stopped working

Hello Everyone,

For some reason my audio filters are no longer applying to my Mic when I record my videos.

I have an Expander, EQ, Compressor and Limiter going but they all of a sudden stopped working.

I last recorded a video yesterday and the only thing I've done on my pc since then was jump onto a StreamYard livestream today where I used OBS as a virtual camera. The filters are all there and turned on and the output the is the same whether I leave them on or turn them off. I've searched for similar issues on the forum but they all were left unanswered.

I just want to reiterate that irrespective of me turning them off and on, they don’t appear to be working. Yet when they are off or on, the limiter and compressor seem to work when watching the audio bars whilst recording.

Could it be an issue in the output side? It’s very frustrating, no idea what is going on

Apologies for replying a 2nd time to my own post but having played around a little further it looks as though it is just the EQ that is powered the Reaper VST plug in. Anyone have any suggestions why something like this would all of a sudden stop working overnight despite no updates or anything like that?

Did you check your push to talk/ push to mute settings? I had the same thing happening and they seem to be connected. It's either push to talk/ mute or filters. Look for audio ducking if you need automated push to talk.

Did you ever get the issue resolved? I am having the same problem. I make a recording with a compressor and the limiter set to -10db. While I'm recording, the audio level bar does a hard-stop at -10db, even when I'm yelling at max volume to test it. When I listen to the recording in Premier pro, it maxes out at 0db and it doesn't appear as if either filter was actually applied.

It is as though there is a button for "ignore all audio filters" somewhere that I've pushed, but I'm not sure where that is. Both push to talk and push to mute are disabled.

I'm using OBS version 31.0.3 (64 bit) with the Aitum plugins for Vertical streaming and Multistreaming. I've also connected the Elgato stream deck and I am using a plugin for automatic captions.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I believe I have figured out my problem. I was previously using a deprecated NVIDEA NVENC Video encoder, when I switched to one that didn't say (deprecated) next to it, the problem seems to have resolved.

Setting that fixed the problem for me:

File->Settings->Output Mode [Advanced]
[Streaming]
Video Encoder: NVIDIA NVENC H.264

Once I've done that and restarted, the old setting is no longer an option.
