Question / Help Mic Audio Cuts out - resumes and carries over in next recording

Hi,

all of a sudden I have a weird issue with OBS. This started to happen from one day to another without me changing anything in my settings / drivers.

I have issues with the mic audio recording that is set to be recorded as the 2nd audio track. The issue comes in several forms:

1. Commentary starts delayed - the commentary starts several second delayed
2. Commentary then caries over to next recording. I stop 1 recording, start a new one and the commentary from the previous recording is carried over
3. Commentary cuts out (goes total mute within a sentence) and resumes a few seconds after but it picks up exactly where it cut out. Hence this adds more delay and at the end half a minute or more of commentary is missing (or carried over to the next recording)

All of this leads to the commentary totally missing at the end as my commentary lags behind the actual video more and more.

Uncheck 'Use Custom Audio Device' on the webcam, and add the audio source to OBS as a proper audio source.

Also keep in mind that you're using a ton of USB interrupts running a webcam (at 1280x720@60p) with an audio interface. I'm not saying you can't do it, just that it might be an issue you need to keep an eye on.

Also don't put Monitor capture and game capture in the same scene. Instead use the Scene Switcher if you want to automatically show your desktop when you're not gaming.

Thanks for the reply I will do all of that and report back if that will fix it.

I am using the USB interface as custom audio as this fixed my issue with commentary not being in synch with my lips never had this issue before but always had this custom device. Anyway if that fixes it I don't mind changing that and synching via delay or in post.
