Mic audio cuts out as soon as desktop audio starts

Our automatic analyzer found a couple of problems, but I don't think they would cause your issue:

Every once in a while, someone insists that they've removed all of their filters, only to find that they missed a few, and *that* was where the problem came from. Are you *sure* you don't have a ducker *somewhere*? Or something that's behaving as one?

It's also possible to have two or more sources mixed at different levels, and then compress or limit the mix. That also produces a "ducking" effect when the louder one becomes active. So check for that too, in your entire audio chain, including OBS but not limited to it.

Are you talking about Communications tab of Sounds settings in Windows?

What do you mean with filter? What other Ducker could there be? How can I check this?
Everything in OBS can have a filter, and you get to it the same way: right-click -> Filters

There are no filters by default, so you have to add them yourself, or someone else. But if you tend to forget what you did 5 minutes ago, you could still have them everywhere.

And Suslik has a good point about Windows. The problem could also be on that side of things.
