Media Source, local audio files, skipping in the first second and cut off at the end

So I can't figure out what exactly is causing my local audio files to have this sudden skip at the very start, and only at the very start. The media source is also a few seconds shorter than it should be when being played in OBS, making the end cut off abruptly as well.

I thought it was a VLC problem, but I played the file in the standalone VLC and it works fine. It's just OBS Media Source that's doing this it seems.

At first I thought it was a Sample Rate problem, but the same happens regardless of if I use 48k or 44.1k.

Try ticking the "Close file when inactive" option, then Exit OBS Studio and restart it again to see if that helps.

I ran into issues with playing pre-recorded videos. I'd get a hiccup when first playing the content (off local SSD). but if I pre-play all the content, then hit content again, I don't have an issue. Once I realized work-around, and ok part of my livestream workflow anyway, I haven't delved further into issue. Obviously I shouldn't have to. and not sure if my new PC has issue like prior system (which was plenty powerful enough, but had lots of corp security s/w that interfered with streaming). I mention just in case this gives you an idea of on something to check and see if it helps

Sorry for extremely late reply, but there is no Close file when inactive option here.

Had the same problem. The problem seems to be if you use the VLC player within OBS. There is a consistent delay in the audio. I first tried speeding up the network caching thinking that might help. It didn't. The solution was to use the Media Player in the source window and avoid using the VLC player within OBS. Now videos cue with audio perfectly. You're welcome and good night.

Right so now we just need a way to have a playlist in Media player for multiple files like the VLC player has
