Media and VLC Source Audio Crackle

Hello, I seem to be having a problem with OBS 26.1.1 64 Bit playing videos using either Media Source or VLC Source. The video seems to sometimes take a while to click in, missing the first part, also intermittent audio crackles that sound like dropped buffers.

I've made sure that the frame rate and sample rates of the video files match the project and I have set all audio devices in Windows 10 x64 1909 to match this sample rate as well (44.1kHz).
.
I've tried all sorts of settings, (close when inactive/use hardware decoder). And I've tried all sorts of containers for h.264 (mp4, mkv, mov) at different bitrates.

The logs are showing that it's erratically adding 20 to 40ms to the buffer. Although the computer is fast, Ryzen 9 3950x and barely clocking 1% on the CPU.

I can't seem to get rid of the audio crackles. They happen when simply previewing or recording. Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Eric

I am facing the exact same issue, I think it has something to do with voicemeeter? Did you find a solution to your problem?

Same here when using an audio clip, short sound effect, when switching between scenes. Tried lots of things but still random crackles. Hopefully this is a simple fix.

I have been having the same problem. The audio sounds fine when not monitored and streamed/recorded, but has random cracking when monitored so I can hear it. I have tried every setting I can find plus a fresh install of obs.

Guys, try adding silence to your audio file using Audacity. Insert short silence at the beginning and at the end of your mp3 file. Worked for me.
