So, in the "how to set-up" post on twitch it says it should optimally be 80% of your upload throughput. But I have no idea what 80% of these are, because 80% of the exact numbers are a LOT smaller than what is suggested.

On "Bredbandskollen.se" I get the results: 127,22 Mbit/s Download and 122,84 Mbit/s Upload. However I am not sure, what is 80% of this? 1200? 12000? 120000? 120? I'm just not sure which like "greatness" that it is stated in.

So with
Download: 127,22 Mbit/s
Upload: 122,84 Mbit/s
What should I put in Max Bitrate / Buffer size?

122 / 100 = 1,22 x 80 = 97,6 mbps would be 80% of your available upload. But for streaming the maximum recommended currently is about 3-4 mbps. So you can just choose your bitrate and buffer size according to the resolution you stream at and games you play.
852x480 1000-2000kbps
1280x720 2000-3000kbps
1920x1080 3000-4000kbps
I wouldnt recommend more or many viewers will have buffering problems and some services might even block you after streaming with too high bitrates.

Oh I see, it's that much... Thanks :) I had a hard time understanding that, hehe :$ But thank you, I will be using 3000 or something then since I stream at 1920x1080 :)

Twitch's max is 3500, so use that for both your bitrate and buffer. If your viewers complain about buffering, then you should lower them (but keep bitrate and buffer equal to each other, as a rule of thumb).

And before someone gets smart, 3500 is kind of a "soft" max for Twitch. Yes you can go higher, but Twitch might get pissy with you. Just stick to 3500 as your max bitrate you ever use, unless you're a super-popular partnered streamer, and you'll be fine.

Without partnership 3.5k will give buffering problems to your viewers.

I recommend you to set 2.5k

Make some tests and tell us what happens

Everyone have now 4mbits download so even 3.5 is fine. I've tested many providers in many countries for 3.5. It's different and its not same as partnered channel on 3.5
