I am recording a video game on my M1 MacBook Pro, with OBS. I downloaded OBS to resolve some color banding issues I was having with another screen recorder, and was able to solve them by changing the color space to a 4:4:4 one (I444 format, Full color range, and I tried with both sRGB and BT9709).
However, even when recording like this, the recorded video is visibly more washed out than the game video (or, indeed, what happens if you capture it with macOS's native screenshots or screen recording functionality).
Is there a way I can get the colors to match the game as exactly as possible?
Attached are two screenshots. "game screenshot.png" is the native screen capture. "video screenshot.png" is a frame from OBS's recording.
PS: I'm using a "Window Capture" source for this, not a "macOS Screen Capture" source. The latter didn't work when I tried it (possibly because I'm on macOS 12, Monterey).
