MacOS Display Capture freezing / lockup every 15-90 seconds

This has been a problem over the past ~2 months or so. I'll be streaming and the display capture freezes and does not recover. It will stay on the same frame forever. Sometimes it works without a problem for a few days, and other days it locks up consistently every 15-90 seconds and I need to click "Restart Capture" in order for the display capture to work again.

It really seems like a recent update over the past 3 months introduced this problem.

This is INCREDIBLY frustrating and completely destroys my recordings / streams as my display isn't updated until I realize it stopped capturing and open OBS and manually click Restart Capture.

Why did this start happening? Is it on Apple's end or OBS? How do I fix this?

I have been having the same issue for at least a month maybe longer. Display Capture freezing constantly in under a minute. Restarting always fixed it but only for another minute or less. I wonder if it's related to new (and awful) way Mac OS is handling displays. It seems unrelated to the content or application(s) on the display. This behavior has persisted through at least the last two public updates, the most recent being 31.1.0 I installed today. I can also confirm this happens in both 'Display Capture' and 'Window Capture" I have not tested application capture.

Same issue, occurs at irregular frequency from every few seconds to every 5 minutes or so on display capture and window capture for both streaming and recording. Started happening about a month ago. I'm on the latest OBS and my Mac is up to date. Current recordings are basically just me staring at the "Restart Capture" button waiting for it to light up. Haven't found a fix yet.

This is incredibly frustrating and still happing to me. OBS can't capture the screen... what's it good for then? IT's the screen capture streaming software....
