M-Audio M-Track Solo Interface Disconnects from OBS Randomly at Times

Greetings forum. For a long time now my M-Audio M-Track Solo interface has been giving me trouble. I do live streams of church services, and sometimes I can go for weeks and everything is fine, but eventually my interface will randomly disconnect from OBS right in the middle of a stream. When that happens, I see that it still has power, but the green bar representing the volume for it on OBS is completely blank. I fix this issue by disconnecting the usb from the interface and then connecting it again. That causes the audio to come back.

But I can't keep my eyes glued on the volume bar every minute to monitor for this, so I'm wondering if there's a solution for this, or if I should just straight up get another audio interface. I'm willing to buy another. I don't need anything fancy, I just want something that's fully compatible with OBS and will not give any trouble.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an audio interface that has the best compatibility with OBS?

Just as an update, I got the latest focusrite scarlett solo 4, and I still see this issue. The interface randomly disconnects... Super frustrating.

I wonder if you have a flaky computer. Any problems with other USB devices? Any problems with other apps using that device?

No, all other usb stuff works fine. This is the only app where I use that device. I'm wondering if maybe I should try an audio interface that can run on external power. I've heard that computers have weird power management settings for usb powered things, and maybe that's causing this random disconnect issue. And this an alienware computer that's just a few years old, so it should be plenty capable of handling this stuff.

This is not a problem with OBS, OBS just interfaces with operating systems audio system and os audio system interfaces with your computers USB/etc bus. You definitely have issues with USB bus on your computer

I wanted to post an update. I believe this has been fixed now! I stumbled upon other people saying that alienware's Command Center and Support Assist apps can interfere with interfaces on OBS. I deleted them both and haven't had a problem since. So for anyone with an alienware having this problem, this is an option to try.

Ah yes! Classic "consumer candy" and "muggle assistance" things getting in the way again.

Those things exist, and they're on by default, because they sell. But anything beyond "a straight dumb wire" tends to wreck what *we* do. You need to find all of that and turn it all off, wherever it might be hiding, whatever it might be called, or however insistent it might be that you're an idi0t in need of its stoopid "help" and so turns itself back on. (nuke the persistent one(s) from orbit if you have to)
