Lower Gamesound while Speaking

Hello,

first of all thanks for this great free Software Program!
And sorry that my english is not perfect.

I have one question. I would like to stream with normal/loud gamesounds/music but that it will be lowered everytime when i speak through my microphone. The same way it is, when i use Skype.

So as my bad knowledge let me know Skype uses the windows settings in the system control -> Sound -> Communication -> Lower other soundvalues to 80% (Dont know how its called exactly i use german windows OS).

Is there a option to use this function with OBS? Or does an extern software exist that can do this?
Or then i would love to see this function maybe in a future update.

Thanks again so far for this great work!

You should be able to use that same option with OBS, too. Just set that option manually on the mic that you use with OBS.

Hi!

Beside that I dont know how to "Just set that option manually on the mic that you use with OBS" I think the problem is that it only lowers the soundvolume when SOMEONE ELSE (like the one you are skyping with) is talking and not YOU.

So I am still searching for a program/option that lowers the voice when I/the one who streams am/is talking.

You know so that it sounds like the cool DJs in the Radioshows. :) Though they lower the Musicvolume manually while they are talking i believe.

DJs use the "Talkover" function on a mixer (and they usually are pretty expensive and they are not designed to work with condeser microphones - you will need additional hardware).
Some Software like SAM Broadcaster (radio software) can do this too.

And other people do it on a usual hardware/software mixer without any help, its easy but you need your hands to do it, no chance to use this while gaming^^

Yea, I believe this is a side-chain compressor. I want this in, and I will make sure that it gets in to the rewrite at some point (though it may not be right away)
