Question / Help Low Rumble Sound in OBS Only

Staticmaneuver

New Member
I am hearing a low rumbling sound in all of my recordings and streams using OBS. It also shows up in OBS on the volume meter for the microphone.

The sound cuts out whenever I talk.

Here is an example: http://youtu.be/R20kVWH8Pow
I messed with the settings, but I really don't know too much.

What on earth? I have no idea what's going on here. Never heard something like this happen before. Do you have mic boost on or something? Can I see a log file?

I have also had this issue Static. I wasn't using OBS for about 3weeks due to moving. Come back, do updates and now my mic sounds awful. Also, my elgato game capture hd is not playing game sound in OBS (works fine in elgato software).

Jim, have you discovered anything that may be causing this from the log?
I deleted all OBS and reinstalled using multiple versions and the rumble still persists only in OBS.

One thing I noticed is that your AAC bitrate is set to 320. I remember hearing of someone who had an issue with 320, but I can't really remember if it was some placebo issues. Try a more common bitrate (like 160) and see if it changes anything, though I doubt it will. Other than that I have absolutely no clue still.

Hi all, hope it's alright that I'm bumping this thread but I've run into a similar problem and I think I can provide some more information that helps narrow down the problem.

I, too, am having this problem with OBS and I've noticed its only with games that are more CPU/GPU intensive than others. The sound occurs when I'm playing current gen games like League of Legends or Hearthstone, but the sound goes away when I play something not as demanding such as GTA: San Andreas or System Shock 2. Here's my twitch.tv profile
, the first broadcast on the profile on Oct 28th around 50~ secs in (after the song) is an example of what I'm talking about, though there's no image. You can also hear it faintly on the League of Legends broadcast on Nov 3rd, though it's not as prominent (also NSFW language).

I've noticed that we have similar processors. I've got an AMD Phenom II X4 960T 3.02 ghz so maybe it's an issue with that particular brand of processor.

It also becomes more prominent with mic boost so I'm thinking that it has something to do with our audio inputs. I'm not amazing at reading audio logs but I use a dynex desktop mic - obviously not the best quality but it is what it is. If someone lets me know how to post a log like a couple of posts above, I'll post the specs of my PC.

Edit - actually streamed a game today and had the issue. It's the latest broadcast on the profile. Here's the log for the recording
