Question / Help LOW FPS WHILE STREAMING

first off i use a Happauge hd pvr for caping xbox gameplay. I currently an able to stream to twitch.tv using using obs but the software caping my screen is called FFSPLIT.. My problem is I turned down my bitrate on my hd pvr settings to 1 mbps to try and reduce the bandwith being taken up to create a smoother viewing on twitch. It kinda worked but my FPS off obs is varying between 1-5. Now i will say my overall internet speed is close to 80 down and about 13 up. My question is. Is there any other settings i should be looking at to change on the OBS software ffsplit or my hdpvr? I'm relatively new to this but I understand the basics and realize that OBS still hasnt been able to crack the hdpvr to direct stream.. any help or suggestions as to a cap software i should use or something? any suggestions would be appreciated..

thank you
tical.

try dxtory to capture your screen importing it as a source into obs!

all i know is that ffsplit is another software made for streaming, so obs and ffsplit might conflict with each other. dxtory on the other hand is especially made for screen capturing and has proven to be very good in conjunction with other software.
