Question / Help Low fps on a good PC?

Hi, I'm having a problem with the FPS I get while recording with OBS (and any other recorder, really)
I had done tests on:
Space Engineers
Minecraft
Don't Starve
WATCH_DOGS
Before recording, I was able to keep all of them over 60 frames (100+ on MC, and DS)
When I start recording, they drop to around 30, in game, and the video stutters and records at an even lower FPS.
Now, normally I'd attribute this to just my hardware not being good enough, but I have a pretty decent PC

My OS is on the SSD, and the games I was recording were on my 1st, 1 tb HDD. I have tried recording to all 3 of my drives (ssd, 1tb hdd, 250 gb hdd), and they all produce the same results.
I've tried changing my settings as per many many guides I've seen, and they all either changed nothing or made the video in un-watchable quality.
Now, I honestly don't think it should be that demanding on my system, I'm only trying to record 720p60, or 1080p60 if I could.
When recording, my CPU, ram, and disk usages never go over ~60%, and MSI Afterburner shows my GPU usage as normal.
If anyone knows what could be going on, or if I need to add more information, a reply would be highly appreciated
Thank you for your help, and have a nice day!

Well yes, I'm sure it won't perform as well as a processor costing nearly 4.5 times as much. But are you insinuating that any processor that's not a 4770k will not do well in recording?

i was recently running a fx-4130 at 3.8ghz with a msi hd 7750 2gb win 7 16gb ram, i was recording no lower than 40, but streaming i stayed around 50. but i recently switched over to a intel build and im impressed and kinda dumbfounded that i didnt go with intel in the first place. but even with the benchmark i still dont see your cpu being the reason why you can't record decently especially with the card you have.

Are you on windows 10? If so upgrade OBS to the latest version (0.655b)

Your cpu is gonna be struggling to keep up with gaming and encoding 720p@60fps and definitely at 1080p@60fps.
Sticking to 720p@30fps would be your best bet.
