Question / Help Low-Delay Streaming?

Hello. I'm kinda new to this, and this may not even be the right forum to post this on, but whatever.

Well, I'm trying to setup a way for me to be playing a game and streaming it to a friend who would be voicechatting with me and sort of dual-commentating. Ideally, he would be able to hear the game but not himself (through the voicechat) and have less than 3 seconds of delay. In turn, I'd also be recording a video, with both the game sound and his voice, to be uploaded to Youtube.

An example of this "style" of video are these guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRvBZLQGzwU
(I'm assuming that's how they do it because the mics sound different)

Anyway, is there a way to do this? Even if not with OBS, I just want a way to do it really.

Thanks in advance!

You could use the ultrafast preset which has the least delay and worst quality. But twitch has a delay on their own and I don't know how long it is exactly.
Try google hangouts, it may be good enough for this.

Twitch has a delay on their own servers? Well there's something I didn't know. Is there any way to disable it? If not, that may very well be a deal breaker for me. Is there a livestream site that doesn't have said delay? I really don't need it since I'm a casual player, not planning to delve into esports or any of that stuff.

I'll try Hangouts when I can and tell if it worked well enough here, thanks.

wait until obs implement dshow output then you would also be able to use the stream video output as a skype webcam directly to your friend with less delay. otherwise there is alot of programs that support this.

I'll be trying to fix the delay issue soon

I didn't even know there was a delay issue with OBS, I just wanted wanted a way to get a low-delay livestream to a single friend. But if there is one, sure, take your time! I love OBS, having tried stuff like xSplit before. Keep up the good work!

There is a delay of 2-3 seconds built in due to some buffering, but that buffering is no longer necessary, so I have a fix in the works where it's removed entirely.

Wow, that's actually amazing. Alright, looking forward to the next update now :D
Also, I'll only be able to try out Hangouts/DXtory Webcam+Skype tomorrow, and I'll let you guys know how it went.
