Question / Help Loud Hiss with CaD U37 Mic

I'm trying to capture with OBS, but my CaD U37 has very loud background hiss. No matter what settings I set for the mic, the hiss is there. The only way to manage it, is to lower the mic sensitivity and speak into the mic 2 inches away from my mouth. I'm sucking the mic's **** this way, and it's annoying. I see people online putting their mics over a foot or more from their mouths, and there is no hiss.

Does anyone have ideas of what's wrong? Sorry if this is not directly related to OBS.

Not sure if you have given up or found the answer, but I had this issue and resolved it.

  • Go to your sound icon in the bottom right and right click it.
  • Choose Recording devices.
  • Click on the "Custom" tab at the top.
  • Uncheck the box next to AGC

This fixed the issue for me. You can also click on the "levels" tab and change the value there from 0 to 35.
