I have a very outdated notebook but I managed to fine tune my configurations on OBS 26.1.1 to be able to stream or record at 1080p60.
After updating from 26.1.1 to 27.0.1 I noticed I couldn't keep steady 60fps and kept losing frames due to rendering/encoding. My average fps dropped to about 55. At first I thought I messed something up but after several tests I confirmed no setting was changed on my side.
I then tried reverting to 26.1.1 and to my surprise I could keep streaming at 60fps with no changes.
After some testing I noticed the preview window has something to do with it. Obviously hiding it will free some resources, but even reduzing it's size also does the trick, but I need to keep it very small, which almost defeats the purpose of having it enabled.
For now I'm reverting to 26.1.1, but I would like to know what changed between versions that would cause this loss of performance. I'm also attaching log files from both versions.
For reference here's my hardware.
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20 GHz
RAM 8,00 GB
Dual GPU configuration (Intel HD 5500 and AMD Radeon 8500M)
Windows 10 21H1
I can't upload my log files for some reason, it just gives me an error dialog with no text and an OK button. I'll attach here two log files, the first for opening version 26.1.1 and doing a small recording and the other doing the same on 27.0.1.
