Bug Report Losing audio when downloading from Twitch

Hi everyone, there's a problem I'm having with some recent broadcasts of mine.

I broadcasted a Dota 2 tournament from a local LAN party and the full broadcast has a good quality, perfect audio, all the works, but when I try to create a highlight of it, the video is all there, but the audio is completely missing. The same thing happens when I download the full video in an .flv format, it plays fine on its own but when I try to convert it to an .mp4 or something workable in Vegas it just loses all audio. When using FLV Extract, the .aac file it creates has no data in it.

Anyone have a solution for this?

Could you define what specifically you mean when you say "try to create a highlight of it"?

Twitch has editing tools for VODs that let you cut them up into pieces, or highlights, which you can then save on your channel, title, description, upload to YouTube, etc.

I think you're talking about this Twitch issue: http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/questions/755560-no-sound-in-hightlight-video. I've been expiriencing problems with audio in highlights lately as well, sometimes it's there, sometimes I have to refresh highlight 1-2 times for audio to appear.

The good news is that we are fixing the VODs with this issue as I type this. I would expect all VODs to be working for highlighting again by sometime tomorrow or the day after. The code is crunching on one of our large clusters at this very minute...

Define "old." We aren't aware of this problem extending beyond the last few weeks.

Well some of my VODs for example, are from like October time last year wil there audio be fixed aswell ?

Their audio should be fine, or so I would guess. We've had no reports of bad audio on old VODs. Please file a ticket at help.twitch.tv. If you are using ?t= on the end of the URL, you might be triggering a race condition in the Adobe streaming library we have been unable work around reliably.
